Group Coaching Programme for Leaders


Coaching has, over the past several years, become a widely used and highly valued contributor to the people development field.  However, it is generally accepted as a one to one exercise – the coach acting as a mirror or sounding board, and asking challenging questions, with the intention of enabling their client to gain deeper understanding and therefore clarity, for any situation or issue they may be facing. So how can coaching be offered to a group, and how does it work?

How it Works


The basic principle remains unchanged. A minimum of two coaches engage with each group as the delegates seek to unleash their full potential to meet any challenge. It is preferable that the group is comprised of individuals at a similar stage in their careers and development. It is then more likely that they will be facing the same or similar challenges, and will therefore find the majority of the session relevant to their own situation.

For group coaching to be successful, not only does it require a group of individuals who have similar requirements from their coaching. It also demands that each participant is willing to trust the group members, to respect each other’s confidences and, rather like a coach, engage the process in a non-judgmental and open manner.

Clearly, each individual does not get quite the same personal attention from the coaches – who have to spread themselves among all members of the group during a coaching session. There is however significant compensation in the form of the support and input which comes from the other group members during the discussions. Typically, over time, the group members form a close network which lasts well beyond the coaching intervention.

This programme will be delivered via video link and consists of six modules. It is intended that all participants attend all modules. Different coaches will deliver each module, so delegates will experience a variety of coaching styles.

Purchase Options

Each programme can accommodate a maximum of 12 participants. You therefore have the option of having a totally in-house course, in which case you can choose to select between 6 and 12 participants.

However, since part of the benefit of this form of coaching is interaction with others from different work environments, you may choose to select between 2 and 4 attendees for an open programme. Equally, you may choose to put just one individual on an open programme.

Dates for in-house courses can be set by mutual agreement. Open courses will be offered from mid-September on set dates, providing sufficient nominations are received.

Frequently Asked Questions


Sessions should take place every 3 to 4 weeks. Sessions generally last 1½ hours, but can be as short or as long as you require.

How do I know which coach is right for me?

We understand the importance of a good match between coach and client. We are very experienced at doing this. A lead coach will meet with each potential client, explain to them how the process works and assess from their discussion, who from our large team would be the best match.

The lead coach will then organize a chemistry session to determine each party’s comfort with the coaching relationship and clarify any outstanding issues that need to be addressed in preparation for the coaching process.

Do You Offer Ongoing Consulting Services?

We work on a retainer and the coach is available for contact whenever issues arise in-between regular sessions. This is normally by telephone, SMS, email, Skype or additional face-to-face sessions.
